Juan Osuna

Members of the immigration community were shocked and saddened yesterday by the news of the untimely death of Juan Osuna on Tuesday night.  Most people reading this will know that Juan was a BIA Board Member, BIA chairman, and (after a stint in the Deputy Attorney General’s office) director of EOIR, before departing government in late-May of this year.  Here is a link to fellow blogger Paul Schmidt’s post in remembrance of Juan:

Juan accomplished much in his leadership roles, and touched the hearts of many with his warmth, accessibility, sense of humor, and his ability to  meaningfully connect with all EOIR staff.  He will be greatly missed.  My heartfelt condolences to his wife, Wendy - may Juan’s memory always serve as a comfort and a blessing.
